Application Security 101: Adding a security layer to your application

Bob has crafted an amazing application! It looks beautiful, and the users love its simplicity.

But wait, there is a bit of an issue.

Bob's artistic skills, don't stretch to securing it. The application is a security nightmare. Bob was so worried about it, he enlisted the help of Mark. Mark works in IT, so he must be an expert....

Mark looked at what he had to work with. He was thinking:

'If only I had a way to scan the application and create a set of security settings that could close the holes'.

There is. It's 2 minutes, you have 2mins right?

The application is secured using an automatic scanner in conjunction with the NetScaler that sits in front of the application. The scanner even spits out the custom signatures. Mark just presses the button marked 'deploy' and the job is done.

What is the outcome?

Bob's application is just as beautiful as ever, only now with a security layer added over the top.
