Citrix ADM might sound good, based on what I have been posting recently. It would be awesome if there was a way to get some help moving my estate of appliances over to it. Maybe you have quite a few to move, if only there was a tool to help.
Would you believe it, there is and you can!
You have been selected for a training course in Citrix ADM, the goal is to provide you with enough information to be actually dangerous when talking to a customer or client. 30 days is a bit of an arbitrary number, but I am prepared to give you 2 minutes of material, can I get 2 minutes of your time? I have talked about Fleet management, general analytics, security analytics, AI / ML, Stylebooks, Pooled Capacity, instance advisory upgrade, security advisory and autoscaling.
Today is all about onboarding.
Honestly, what are you talking about?
When you have a bunch of appliances to manage, the idea of spending even a small amount of your precious time onboarding them into ADM service is crazy. What we need is some simple workflows that do all the heavy lifting for you. This will shorten your time to value with ADM.
So what? What problem does it solve?
Onboarding is a chore, having a couple of cloud services that give you a leg up will help get your appliances onboarded and under management and is obviously a good thing.
Who would be interested in this?
A NetScaler admin that is tasked with managing more than one appliance, the more you add the greater the benefits.
What works with ADM to do this?
ADM is the management, analytics, and automation tool that I have been talking about. In addition to ADM there are two ‘services’ that help to onboard NetScalers. They are:
ADM Service connect: It is a new feature in NetScaler that helps enable seamless onboarding of new instances onto Citrix ADM. This feature lets the instance automatically connect with Citrix ADM and send system, usage, and telemetry data.
Call home: It is an existing feature in NetScaler, which periodically monitors the instances and automatically uploads data to the Citrix technical support server.
What does it look like?

The onboarding process is done here using the built-in ADM agent in NetScaler. You can also use a separate agent, but this is just a quick start run-through.
Ultimately, I have a HA pair and pick the primary and onboard it. It then comes up in ADM and can use all the good reports and tools that come with that.
Summary.
Provisioning can be a chore! We have tools to save you time and help you get back to the high value tasks.
Ultimately, it is another killer feature that is enabled with ADM service.
