30 days of ADM: Day 14 October 21, 2022
Web transaction analytics to get insight into your web site performance
I am back, it is day 14!
Picture the scene.
You run an international website to sell widgets, and your widgets are amazing. The problem is selling widgets is a fierce market. Everyone wants them.
You see that sales start to drop, your quality is good and there are almost no returns. It seems that your sales funnel is not performing. You then find that your website has a bit more latency than it should. Customers have been going elsewhere!
It has cost you a lot of lost revenue & pumping money into advertising, but now that the site is back on song, sales are tracking back up and things are looking up.
Web site performance is key!
You have been selected for a training course in Citrix ADM, the goal is to provide you with enough information to be actually dangerous when talking to a customer or client. 30 days is a bit of an arbitrary number, but I am prepared to give you 2minutes of material, can I get 2 minutes of your time? I have talked about Fleet management, general analytics, security analytics, AI / ML, Stylebooks, Pooled Capacity, instance advisory upgrade, security advisory, Autoscaling, onboarding, RESTful API, CADS self-managed and Service Graph
Today is all about Web Transaction Analytics
Honestly, what are you talking about?
The example above is trying to highlight that the internet is a massive leveler, if you do not have a website that performs, people will go elsewhere. It’s that simple. Ensuring that your website is punchy will head off one of the headaches for your business. Typically, administrators using NetScaler need to have better stats to ensure that it gives them exactly what they need. ADM can help in this.
The statistics are:
A new report by Fasthosts uncovers the reality behind a slow-performing site. The report reveals that a slow-loading website can set retailers back a reported£59.6bn each year in lost sales*.
That could be a lot of widgets.
So what? What problem does it solve?
ADM with NetScaler offers deep visibility into your website.
Who would be interested in this?
Almost any customer using NetScaler to improve application delivery is looking for the real-time status of web transactions when they have an internet-facing service.
Let me have an example of its use.
By looking into a particular application that ADM is monitoring, it is possible to see that it breaks out the various URL’s and offers further details.
Here is the overview, navigate to Applications-App Dashboard -Application. Cake! A subject I can get behind.
What if you wanted to get more details on a specific part of your site, this can break out the specific details.
Maybe the problem is the server processing the client traffic. When the bulk of the time is spent on the back side, maybe you need a server change?
What else?
The Web transaction analytics enables you to view detailed transactions for:
· Response time > 500 ms
· 5xx errors
It can also allow the viewing of only a few sample 2xxtransactions for the selected application.
What does Sanyukta have to say?
Sanyukta cut this a while ago, as usually, it goes into way more detail than I have here.
Summary.
Having a Web Transaction analysis is pretty cool! You get the ability to view exactly what you need to keep your website running smoothly. With tools like this, you can save time and ensure that you get back to high-value tasks.
Ultimately, it is another killer feature that is enabled with ADM service.
